With fall now upon us, the City of Manitowoc is preparing to begin picking up the multi-colored leaves that will soon be dotted on lawns around the city.

Dan Koski, the City’s Director of Public Infrastructure, tells us that leaf pickup will begin on October 3rd.

Leaves should be placed on the terrace the evening before your assigned street sweeping day.

Brush and garden waste will not be picked up by city crews.

That waste can be brought to any of the County’s compost sites.

The bulk of leaf pickup is expected to be October 17th through November 18th weather permitting, and the goal is to complete pickup in each section each week.

Depending on the weather, the volume of leaves, and equipment, there may be times a section is not completed, so residents are asked to be patient, leaves will be picked up the following week.
